literature refers to written literary work. Usually literature is not
restricted to only the published pieces of art, but also unwritten work.
Writing in which expression and form in connection with ideas of permanent and
universal interest are characteristics or essential features, as poetry,
novels, history, biography and essay. Sometimes the entire body of writing is a
specific language, period and people.
Literature typically means anything that can be read. For example, when
you go to a meeting, the staff may provide literature on the topic. Also, a
novel can be considered literature.
So it can be said that
literature is the art of written works. Any kind of written works that is
imaginative, creative or of artistic value, usually related to a work absence
of factual or practical reference is popularly known as literature.
